Bring your blankets and your chairs out to Lake Benson Park (921 Buffaloe Road on Friday, September 5, 2014 and enjoy the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's Friday's Family Flick "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days"

The 30 foot outdoor movie screen will be placed on the main stage, with seating on the grassy slope in front. Refreshments will be sold, but coolers are welcome. Come early to get a good seat. 

The movie will begin at 7:45pm.

The July 3rd Independence Day celebration at Lake Benson Park (921 Buffaloe Road) is an evening of fun activities for the entire family. 

Festivities include live entertainment, tasty concessions, a kids' adventure zone with inflatables, crafts and deejay. 

Also, the traditional performance by the North Carolina Symphony followed by the best fireworks in the Triangle. 

This year, Garner will also be leading a mass performance of the Garner All-America Shuffle.

Lake Benson Park in Garner will be erecting a 30' outdoor movie screen for a showing on Friday, May 16th.

The FREE family flick begins at 8:30pm.

Bring a blanket and/or chairs.

Refreshments will be available.

Family camping at the park will follow the movie night.

Advance registration is required.

A second movie/camping night featuring a free screening of "Monsters University", will be held at Lake Benson Park on Friday, June 13th.

LAKE BENSON BOATHOUSE OPENED FOR THE SEASON ON SATURDAY, MARCH 15, 2014. 

SATURDAY HOURS ARE FROM 7AM - 7PM.

THROUGH JUNE IT WILL ALSO BE OPEN FRIDAYS AND SUNDAYS NOON-7PM.

IN JULY AND AUGUST, THE BOATHOUSE WILL DROP THE FRIDAY HOURS BUT PICK THEM BACK UP IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER.

JON BOATS WITH MOTORS ARE $4.00 PER HOUR OR $20.00 PER DAY. CANOES ARE $5.00 PER HOUR. SENIORS GET HALF PRICE RATES ON FULL DAY RENTALS OF JON BOATS. IT'S A CASH ONLY OPERATION.

THERE IS FREE FISHING FROM THE DOCK.
